But the beach: I walked a couple miles south then back; was a lot of smelly seaweed and bird dung (assuming from the smell), but worst was the numerous clumps of tar/oil on the sand and rocks. I love Jalama! Be sure to go hungry and grab a Jalama burger while you are there. Jalama road is around 10-15 miles from Lompoc and then another 15 or so I’d say once you are on Jalama road. That’s just an estimate but it’s a great drive. You can walk forever on the beach in both directions.
