Install your new RAM. Your new RAM should fit in the slots on your motherboard just the same as your old RAM did. There will be a notch in your RAM that should coincide with your motherboards socket. Line up the notch, press the RAM into place, and wait to hear a click. 7.) Test for FunctionalityIf you have 2 sticks of memory, generally you would install them into the 2nd and 4th slots (counting away from the CPU). There should always be a space between them basically. You'd only pack them close if you are filling all 4 slots. My computer has four slots. I put two sticks in ch 1 and 3 and it worked.
