Heard it drains capacitors and makes it either give you "good" code or disables limp mode if codes are now okay. Going to give it a try today.1. Disconnect the battery by removing the positive battery cable. Remember, the positive battery cable. 2. Ground the positive cable to the negative cable for 30 seconds to erase the electric charge in the capacitors. 3. Reconnect the positive cable to the battery. 4. If could be that in 2H or 4H it is close enough to not trigger limp mode, but in 4L it does. Things like gears are clear black and white settings.I bought a used 2006 Liberty Limited 3.7 Had issues with getting it inspected because of shuddering in the transmission and it was throwing a code. Had it rebuilt. Seemed perfect. Passed inspection. After a few thousand miles it went into limp mode. I have a 2005 Rubicon and at high RPM's, about redline, it throws the Jeep into limp mode and throws the check engine light. It has happened 3 times since I have owned it. It only occurs if you have to drive it aggressively such as getting out into traffic and such. It has been fixed twice out warranty.
