If you preview a shader in your inventory, it'll show you that shader on all your equipped gear including your equipped kinetic weapon, even if that weapon is exotic. Some of these shaders would look INSANELY cool on exotics and it just makes me sad I'm locked to the one single ornament for the weapons when I get all of the choices on the armor.
