I believe the Ruger Mark III manual say's for the Hunter model that the sight picture is to be dead center with the front sight setting in the bottom of the V. Of course like North Country Girl said, after that you adjust them to you're liking. I purchased new Ruger Mark III Hunter model KMKIII45H yesterday. I tried to field strip and clean it before its first trip to the range but messed up somewhere along the line. I was unable to remove the mainspring house using the Ruger manual and on-line videos. It would only move about 3/8". Now I can not even pull the bolt back.The Ruger Mark III is the third generation of Sturm, Ruger & Co.'s oldest line of pistols that effectively built the Ruger name. The Mark III can trace its basic design all the way back to the Ruger Standard (designed in the 1950's) although various mechanisms and materials have been incorporated into the design of the Mark III.Works fairly well but the channel should be more squared off to fit the rail that comes with the Mk III Hunter. It also does not fit the Hunter's clips very well. The clip pocket is too snug against the outside of the holster for the wide base on the clips. May be great with earlier clips with narrow bases.
