Why are shell gas stations changing to circle k.

I like in north Mississippi outside of Memphis area and all the circle k convince stores used to sell shell fuel. But recently it seems there begun to remove the shell brand and put in basic circle k fuel. I'm curious if this is simply a name change and they're still providing shell fuel or if circle k fuel is seperate of shell fuel. Today (4/12/23) I noticed that this Shell station is now a Circle K gas station. That makes the Walmart gas next door cheaper if paying by credit card. Flag as inappropriate ... As of May 13, this is now a Circle K location NOT SHELL! No Fuel Rewards for Shell any longer.
